Hair loss in women can be from a vitamin deficiency

 

 
Hair loss in women due to vitamin deficiency is very common.  But what vitamin and mineral deficiency cause a women’s hair to start falling out.  It is believed from a number of studies that hair loss in women is due to vitamin and iron deficiency.  Iron deficiency could be linked to being the main culprit in hair loss of pre-menopausal women.

 

Iron and vitamin deficiency can cause serious hair loss in women.  If you find that you are losing lots of hair, even handfuls, your blood may be suffering from lack of iron.  If you are pregnant and are losing your hair, don’t panic, this is a common side effect of pregnancy.

 

So if you are a woman, experiencing hair loss and vitamin and iron deficiency, here’s what you can do.  First, increase you iron intake daily.  Make sure you are getting the right serving size of meat, fish, cereals, beans, peas and eggs.  Dark leafy greens and legumes are an excellent source of iron as is dried fruit.  You may even want to consider taking a vitamin supplement but before you do, speak to your doctor.
